This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains how Mega Containers USA gets your shipping container from our depot to your site, what to expect on delivery day, and what’s required of you to ensure a smooth drop-off. Please review this policy before placing your order.
1. Delivery Coverage Area
We deliver containers to locations across the continental United States. Delivery availability and freight cost vary by distance from our nearest depot and by site accessibility. Enter your delivery zip code at checkout or contact us for a delivery quote before ordering.
2. Delivery Timeframes
Estimated delivery windows are provided at the time of purchase and typically range from 3–14 business days depending on your location, container availability, and trucking schedules. These are estimates only — actual delivery dates are not guaranteed and may be affected by:
- Weather conditions and road restrictions
- Trucking and driver availability
- Permit or escort requirements for oversize loads
- Site accessibility issues discovered after scheduling
3. Delivery Method
Containers are delivered using one of the following methods, depending on your site and container size:
- Tilt-bed/rolloff truck: The truck tilts its bed and the container slides off onto a flat, level surface. Requires adequate straight-line clearance (typically 60–100 ft depending on container length).
- Flatbed with crane or forklift offload: Used when tilt-bed delivery isn’t possible due to site constraints. Crane/forklift service may carry an additional fee.
Our delivery team will confirm the appropriate method with you prior to dispatch based on the site details you provide.
4. Site Access Requirements
To ensure a successful delivery, you are responsible for confirming your site can accommodate a large commercial truck and trailer. Please ensure:
- A firm, level, and stable surface for container placement (gravel, concrete, or compacted ground — not soft or muddy ground)
- Clear overhead access with no low-hanging wires, tree limbs, or structures blocking the delivery path
- Adequate width and turning space for a tractor-trailer (typically at least 12 ft wide, straight approach)
- Removal of any obstacles, vehicles, or debris from the placement area prior to the scheduled delivery
If our driver determines on arrival that the site is inaccessible or unsafe for delivery, a failed delivery/re-attempt fee may apply, and the container may need to be rescheduled or offloaded at the nearest accessible point at your risk.
5. Permits & Escorts
Depending on container size and your local regulations, oversize load permits or pilot car escorts may be required. Where applicable, these costs are the responsibility of the buyer and will be quoted prior to delivery.
6. Delivery Day
- You or an authorized representative must be present at the delivery site to direct exact container placement and sign for receipt.
- We recommend confirming a delivery window with our team 24–48 hours in advance.
- Inspect the container upon arrival before the driver leaves, if possible. Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt.
7. Delivery Fees
Delivery fees are calculated based on distance, container size, and access requirements (e.g., crane offload, escort vehicles, permits). Fees are quoted prior to purchase or at checkout and are separate from the container price unless stated as “delivery included” in the listing.
8. Failed or Delayed Deliveries
If delivery is delayed due to circumstances outside our control (weather, carrier delays, permit processing), we will notify you as soon as possible and work to reschedule promptly. If delivery fails due to inaccessible site conditions not disclosed at the time of order, additional trip fees may apply for rescheduling.
9. Damage in Transit
While we take care to ensure containers are transported safely, please inspect your container at the time of delivery. Any transit damage should be noted on the delivery paperwork and reported to us within 48 hours — see our Refund and Returns Policy for how damage claims are handled.
